On the evening of September 10, Fashion’s Night Out is being presented in the US by American Vogue, NYC & Company, The City of New York and the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) with the collaboration of over 700 retailers in every borough of America’s fashion capital.
Nearly 40 retailers in Brooklyn will participate offering creative lures and shopping incentives in this kickoff event for New York Fashion Week. The Prospect Heights boutique Pieces has long been an incubator for emerging designers and in keeping with this tradition will present Fashion Is…Brooklyn, exhibiting designers from the County of Kings –like Aki Kano, Kebero and wrkroom— as well as officially launch Ashtyn, the in-house brand designed by owner Latisha Daring. From 7:30 – 11pm enjoy fashion and cocktails, BK style and continue the fun at the after party at Deity (368 Atlantic Avenue.)
On nearby Bergen Street, Andrea Miller’s year-old shop, Eponymy is joining the Fashion’s Night Out fray by offering celebratory champagne and birthday cupcakes to get the party started. Earlybirds (the first 15 arrivals) will be rewarded with 30% off any purchase made that evening. Another incentive to arrive early is to queue up for a $40 tattoo created specifically for the event by Adam Patterson of Jersey City Tattoo company. Be sure to bring your business card for a chance to win a $75 gift certificate then peruse the racks for the first picks of Fall including those from ALine by Arati Rao, launching in the store that night.
