Organic Forms

While contemplating heading over to the Affordable Art Fair this weekend, I came across the work of Marilu Datoli Harnett whose layers of tinted plaster with free-form application of silver leaf called to mind jewelry, and specifically three designers who’ve utilized a similar organic approach in various mediums to create their beguiling articles of adornment.

Brooklyn artist, Jane D’Arensbourg “fell into” jewelry design while working as a glass fabricator for other artists. Her glass bubble rings, $135 each, are made from Pyrex and surprisingly durable.

My dear (and wickedly funny) friend, Dorian Webb creates this textured Sterling silver cuff, $340.
